Hi there, I’m Ren

My creative practice is my reverence of the natural mystery – to share messages of total liberation and respect for all beings overlooked in dominant society. I am an artist, designer and poet with a passion for self-publishing zine and artist books. I am kept on track in my studio by my adopted bird son, Rainford, and kitty nieces, Cinder Mei and Sumi Bliss.

My home is downriver of Detroit, Michigan, a world of wetlands and industry. I now reside in another rust-belt city: Indianapolis. Being queer centers my relationships to these resilient places, nature and the other-than-humans often featured in my pieces, who have always provided me refuge and unconditional understanding.

I have a new poetry collection zine launching, DREAMS OF THE NOW, which is a piece inspired by the zine making and radical dreaming workshop we did at Monkey Wrench Radical Zine Fest. This is an expiremental print, each is a little different! I'm becoming friends with a riso machine and learning the printing process first hand [many thank yous to @hamiltoneastpl].
